Pat Kreger
Director of Development
Pat Kreger joined the I FUND in September, 2006 as Associate Director of Development in Chicago at the Illini Center on Wacker Drive. In September, 2011, Kreger was promoted to Director of Development, heading up the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics efforts in the Chicagoland area. Kreger’s responsibilities involve overseeing all development and outreach activities for the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics in the greater Chicagoland/Northwest Indiana region, as well as the Rockford and Quad Cities areas. Additionally, Kreger is responsible for activities in the southeast United States, east coast of Florida and California.
Kreger comes to the Illini from The University of Akron, where he held the position of Associate Athletics Director for Development from 2005-2006. During his tenure at Akron, he was responsible for all development efforts in support of Zips Athletics, and oversaw an increase in giving from $875,000 to $1.6 million.
Prior to Akron, Kreger served as Director of the Hurricane Club at the University of Miami from 2003-2005. His responsibilities at Miami included overseeing and coordinating the Hurricane Club annual giving program, the annual fund drive, regional Hurricane Club events and activities throughout Florida and Atlanta, as well as the courtesy car program.
A native of Green Isle, Minn., Kreger arrived in Coral Gables, Fla., after spending the previous six years (1997-2003) at San Diego State, most recently serving as assistant AD - Aztec Athletic Foundation (AAF). From 1996-97 he worked in the ticket and business offices at Fresno State.
A 1993 graduate of Mankato State (Minn.) University, Kreger spent three years working in the private sector at Omega Management in Minnetonka, Minn.
